The church exists to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. We do this in many ways through our lives and as a congregation. One way we seek to share this Good News is to invite you to an Alpha course.
Alpha is for anyone who’s curious. It’s a chance to ask questions and explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome.
Alpha is a 10 week course with the option of a day or weekend away in the middle.
Each week includes food, a short video and a discussion at the end, where you can share your thoughts or ask questions. At any point, if you think Alpha isn’t for you, that’s not a problem. There’s no pressure, no follow up and no charge.
The next course will start on Wednesday 25th September 2024 and will run until 4th December 2024. The course will run between 12:30 - 2:30pm.
Lunch is served at 12:30 pm by the Community café in Fetteresso Church Hall. We then move to the church to watch the video. After the video there is tea/coffee and sweets and a chance to discuss the video together. The course will be finished by 2:30
There will also be an evening Alpha course in conjunction with Catalyst Church at 51b Cameron Street, Stonehaven. The evening course will run Wednesday 25th September 2024 - Wednesday 4th December. 7:15-9:15pm.
Join us on Saturday 2 November in Stonehaven as we look at how can Alpha can help your church with the first mark of mission - relevantly proclaiming the Gospel. We’ll be joined by guest speaker Martin Fair, former Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
We will look at some of the cultural elements to help make your Alpha the best it can be:
Encouraging a culture of prayer; Building a culture of invitation; Adopting a culture of hospitality; Enabling a culture of encounter; Growing a culture of leadership development.
